Busua is a softer beach base than Accra's busy shorelines. Travellers come for surf lessons, beach football, seafood, guesthouses, and a pace that works for two or three nights rather than a fast stop.

The Asa Baako festival has also made Busua more visible as a culture and music stop. Outside festival windows, the appeal is simpler: small restaurants, beach walks, nearby villages, and access to the wider Western Region coast.

Local fit

  • Best for: surfing, slow weekends, beach guesthouses.
  • Nearby: Takoradi, Dixcove, Axim.
  • Practical note: book ahead during festival periods and holiday weekends.
